Description:
We are a Preschool to Grade 12 school in the city of Rajkot (Gujarat) founded by Harvard alums. Our unique pedagogy, the Northstar Approach, is a research-based approach to learning and teaching that helps students achieve their highest potential by exploring and making discoveries about themselves and their world. Responsibilities:

The role of an Assistant educator is to support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support learner’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or on their own within a team.

  1. Support and assist in classroom teaching, assessment, activities, events, record maintaining, and other academic activities. 

  2. Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. This includes managing learner behaviour, facilitating transitions between activities, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

  3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assist in assessing learner progress through observations, informal assessments, and learner work samples. Keep records of learner performance and communicate with the lead teacher about areas of growth and areas needing improvement.

  4. Work in small groups with the need based learners while the class is being conducted.

  5. Provide additional assistance to learners who may require extra support with academic concepts or social-emotional skills. This could involve tutoring, small group instruction, or differentiated learning activities.

  6. Work as replacement educator in place of an absent educator across grades.

  7. Collaboration with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with other educators and staff members to share resources, strategies, and best practices. Attend team meetings, professional development sessions, and contribute to the overall school community.

  8. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills, stay updated on educational trends and research, and continue personal growth as an educator.

  9. Help learners develop social skills such as cooperation, communication, and problem-solving. Encourage positive peer interactions and teach conflict resolution strategies.

  10. Plan, organize and implement various school events and functions.

  11. Developing positive and respectful relationships with learners and supporting the holistic development of children in early childhood  

Qualifications:
Need a bachelor or master’s degree in any field of education. Prior experience in teaching at progressive organizations is beneficial
